Comparing Akala to the idiot Abbot is a bit harsh. Comes across as having his head screwed on the right way.
He's not a Hammer but perhaps the OP was referring to Nearly Native Esq who I regret to say is not someone I am acquainted with.

I disagree re Akala, he comes across as a lot more intelligent that Diane Abbott. And at a recent rally for Grenfell Tower locals he told the Socialist Worker Party people in attendance to all "fuck off" as they were just trying to hijack the movement for justice for their own ends.
